Tourist hooked huge halibut

A 69-year-old German tourist could go home to tell the ultimate "big fish story" after a fishing adventure on Norway's Sognefjord.
Dieter Krüger of Hamburg also had to go home exhausted and slightly shaken after hooking a halibut that weighed in at 105 kilos (231 pounds).
But very happy indeed, if a bit stiff.
He spends nearly every day out on the fjord in his little plastic boat. One day in late June, he was sitting in the boat just offshore from the landmark hotel, over an area of the fjord that he said is around 200 meters deep.

Halibut are among the largest fish in the sea and the largest of all the flatfish. They can grow to more than 8 ft long and 700 lbs. Halibut weighing in at more than 100 pounds are often called "Whales", "Soakers", or even "Barn Doors", while smaller halibut, less than 20 pounds, are often called "Chickens". The largest halibut ever caught while sport fishing was 459 lbs. in Unalaska Bay.(Maybee over 100 year's old)
