From summer to snow

After last week's record high temperatures have given way to an even more unusual contrast.
This is extreme. We are after all in the middle of June, and it is especially remarkable given the high temperatures we have just had. I cannot remember similar cases.

Dog buried alive under snow

An elderly Border collie was saved by his whimpering after he literally was buried under the masses of snow that fell over southern Norway last week.

The 11-year-old dog, named Bonzo, disappeared from his family's home last Tuesday. Days went by, with no sign of him.

A week later, the telephone rang and a woman said she'd heard some whimpering from a nearby park.
They found the dog under the snow. He was in surprisingly good shape, but almost certainly would have perished if he hadn't been found.

Snow brings chaos

Hundreds of cars skidded off roads just in eastern Norway as an unexpected heavy snowfall struck.
Despite a deep affection for snow, Norwegian motorists yet again revealed that the arrival of winter is always a surprise.
